Belle Terrace Behavioral Health Services will open Sept. 8, expanding access to mental health care for East Bakersfield residents.

As the need for mental health services continues to grow across Kern Couty, Clinica Sierra Vista (CSV) is expanding access to care with the opening of Belle Terrace Behavioral Health Services, its second new behavioral health center in Bakersfield this year.

The opening of Belle Terrace Behavioral Health Services follows the successful opening of Stockdale Behavioral Health Services, which began serving patients on August 3, 2026. Located at 1600 E. Belle Terrace Ave., the new center will officially open on September 8, 2026, increasing access to counseling, psychiatric care, and other behavioral health services for residents of East Bakersfield and surrounding communities.

Serving the 93307 ZIP code and nearby neighborhoods, Belle Terrace Behavioral Health Services is accepting new patients and will help address the growing demand for accessible, high-quality mental health care.

Both facilities are operated by Clinica Sierra Vista through a contract with Kern Behavioral Health & Recovery Services (Kern BHRS), the county agency responsible for administering behavioral health funding and services throughout Kern County.

Addressing a Growing Need for Behavioral Health Care

Across California, the demand for behavioral health continues to exceed available access, particularly for individuals and families covered by Medi-Cal. While awareness of mental health needs has grown, many residents still encounter obstacles to obtaining timely counseling, treatment, and psychiatric care. The opening of Belle Terrace Behavioral Health Services reflects a significant commitment to addressing these challenges within the community. By providing comprehensive behavioral health care in an accessible, neighborhood-based setting, Clinica Sierra Vista is helping remove barriers to treatment and ensuring more people can receive the support they need when they need it most.

Building on Countywide Behavioral Health Transformation

Following the passage of California Proposition 1 (Behavioral Health Transformation) in March 2024, counties received new opportunities and resources to strengthen behavioral health infrastructure, increase treatment capacity, and improve access to care. Kern BHRS has leveraged these changes to expand its network of contracted providers, including Clinica Sierra Vista.

The Stockdale and Belle Terrace locations reflect the continuing partnership between Kern County and CSV to bring vital behavioral health services directly into neighborhoods where they can have the greatest impact.

“Opening this Behavioral Health clinic reflects Clinica Sierra Vista’s commitment to expanding access to quality mental health services and ensuring that every member of our community has a place to turn for support, healing, and hope.” said Marisa Trebizo, Senior Director of Behavioral Health at Clinica Sierra Vista. “It represents more than a building; it represents our promise to have open access to care, reduce barriers to treatment, and support the well-being of the communities we serve.”

“Behavioral health conditions don’t wait for a convenient location,” said Dr. Olga Meave, M.D., CEO of Clinica Sierra Vista. “Belle Terrace Behavioral Health Services expands psychiatric care, therapy, and case management directly in the 93307 ZIP code, one of the areas where Kern County’s need is greatest. Fifty-five years after Clinica Sierra Vista opened its doors, this is what our partnership with Kern County looks like in practice: real clinical capacity in the communities that need the most.:
