As the central valley continues to experience increased demand for COVID-19 testing amid the current Omicron variant surge, and with the Kern County's vaccination rate lagging behind the state average, Clinica Sierra Vista is proud to offer FREE at home COVID-19 test kits, when patients receive either a booster or 1st time COVID-19 vaccination.

Frontline staff will be offering both Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccinations for adults and children (age 5-11) and Moderna's COVID-19 vaccination approved for adults 18-years and older

Clinica Sierra Vista's 'Get the Vax' event will be held Saturday February 5th, from 8-5pm at the Central Bakersfield Community Health Center, located at 301 Brundage Lane in Bakersfield.

  • All patients who receive their COVID-19 booster shot, will receive 6-FREE at home COVID-19 test kits.
  • Patients who receive their 1st COVID-19 vaccination will receive 6-FREE at COVID-19 test kits, plus a $25 dollar Doordash gift card. (Gift cards limited to first 125 people)

"We want to remind the public just how important it is to receive a COVID-19 vaccination, especially as the highly contagious Omicron variant continues to spread in the valley at a fast pace," said Dr. Olga Meave, Chief Medical Officer at Clinica Sierra Vista. "It's important to get vaccinated and boosted, most people who contract the virus and are vaccinated and boosted have far less severe symptoms than those who are not vaccinated."

"This is a fantastic opportunity to provide COVID-19 test kits which are in short supply," said Amandeep Basra, Director of Administrative Services at Clinica Sierra Vista. "We are also excited to offer life-saving COVID-19 vaccinations at the same time, and provide as much comfort and safety to families during these difficult times."

People with COVID-19 should isolate for 5 days and if they are asymptomatic or their symptoms are resolving (without fever for 24 hours), follow that by 5 days of wearing a mask when around others to minimize the risk of infecting people they encounter. The change is motivated by science demonstrating that the majority of SARS-CoV-2 transmission occurs early in the course of illness, generally in the 1-2 days prior to onset of symptoms and the 2-3 days after.

You may experience the following symptoms 2-14 days after exposure:

   •   Cough

   •   Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

   •   Fever

   •   Chills

   •   Muscle pain

   •   Sore throat

   •   Loss of taste or smell
