Adolescent Family Life Program
(AFLP)
AFLP provides comprehensive case management services and a youth development curriculum to pregnant and parenting teens and their children. Case managers work closely with youth to improve the health and well-being of themselves and their children. This approach aims to develop their resilience by strengthening their developmental assets. Our adolescent patients are provided ongoing support and opportunities to build the strength and skills they need to thrive during and after they exit the program.
AFLP is a voluntary program targeted toward expectant/parenting youth up to age 21. We serve Bakersfield, Arvin, Lamont, McFarland, and Delano.
Our goal is to reduce repeat adolescent births, increase educational and vocational advancement, improve parent and child health, and create networks of support for pregnant and parenting youth.
