Rio Bravo Family Medicine Residency Program

The Rio Bravo Family Medicine Residency Program is a three-year postgraduate training program consisting of six residency positions per year (PGY-1, PGY-2, and PGY-3). Rio Bravo is sponsored and housed within Clinica Sierra Vista at a Federally Qualified Health Center (East Niles Community Health Center, a Teaching Health Center ) in Kern County, and has an academic affiliation with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

The goal of Rio Bravo is to support the recruitment, training, and retention of Family Medicine physicians that are dedicated to serving the underserved in California’s central San Joaquin Valley.
