About Alcira
Dr. Sahami is a double board-certified psychiatrist in General and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, originally from El Salvador. She completed her medical degree at Ross University, residency in adult psychiatry, and fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Stanford, where she received the Clinical Excellence Award.
She has extensive experience in pediatric psychiatry and a strong focus on neurodevelopmental disorders, including ADHD, mood and anxiety disorders, developmental delays, and autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Sahami established and directed the Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinic in Kern County, was named Psychiatrist of the Year in 2022, and is an active member and fellow of multiple professional organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association.
Fluent in English and Spanish, she takes a compassionate, multidisciplinary approach to care, emphasizing conservative prescribing practices, collaboration with families and providers, and advocacy for patient well-being.
