Clinica Sierra Vista was proud to host Covered California Executive Director Jessica Altman and community leaders at our Elm Community Health Center in Fresno for a press conference highlighting healthcare access during the 2026 open enrollment period.

The event, held on November 13, brought together state and local officials to encourage residents to explore their health insurance options through Covered California, despite national uncertainty around healthcare subsidies.

As a trusted Covered California community partner, Clinica Sierra Vista enrolled more than 2,600 patients and families in the last year and assisted with over 3,100 coverage renewals.

“With every patient that gets covered, there is an opportunity for a better quality of life, not just for that person, but the generations after them,” – Dr. Olga Meave, CEO of Clinica Sierra Vista.

Healthcare Access Remains a Priority

Executive Director Altman emphasized that Covered California remains “laser-focused” on connecting with residents throughout the open enrollment period, which runs through January 31, 2026. Despite challenges surrounding potential premium increases, the state has allocated $190 million to help keep coverage affordable for California’s lowest-income enrollees.

“We’ve learned something after doing this for now 13 years: It’s genuine connection that gets people covered,” Altman said, highlighting the importance of community partnerships like the one with Clinica Sierra Vista.
