About Witchell

Witchell Cabasag’s career in medicine is defined by a deep, personal commitment to patient care and a steady climb through the ranks of the nursing profession. Originally from Salinas, California, Witchell moved to Bakersfield in 2002 and has proudly called the community home for the past 24 years. Driven by a fundamental desire to help people, Witchell began their healthcare journey on the front lines as a certified nursing assistant, gaining invaluable hands-on patient care experience from the very start.

Committed to advancing their clinical skills, Witchell earned an Associate Degree in Nursing (RN) from Bakersfield College in 2015. After spending years providing high-acuity care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Witchell chose to further their education and scope of practice, transitioning into primary care as a certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C).

While Witchell is trained to manage a comprehensive range of family medicine needs, their absolute favorite part of the job is diagnosing and managing respiratory issues. For Witchell, there is nothing more rewarding than partnering with a patient over time and hearing them say that their breathing has significantly improved.

When not treating patients in the clinic, Witchell loves staying active and can usually be found outdoors enjoying Bakersfield’s local parks and riding along the community bike paths.
