Who Can Get WIC?
You may qualify for WIC if you:
- Live in California
- Have a low-to-medium income or receive Medi-Cal, CalFresh (SNAP), or CalWORKs (TANF)
- Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or recently had a baby (including pregnancy loss within the last six months)
- Are caring for a child under age 5
That’s it! There’s no long process or complicated paperwork—just simple steps to see if you qualify.
WIC Is for All Kinds of Families

- Working parents
- Single fathers
- Grandparents raising grandchildren
- Foster and adoptive families
- Farmworker families
If you care for a child under 5, WIC is for you.
It’s About Support—Not Income
WIC isn’t a handout or welfare program. It’s a health and nutrition program designed to help families grow strong. Through WIC, you get access to:
- Healthy foods every month
- Nutrition and breastfeeding support
