Access to behavioral health care in Kern County has expanded significantly as Clinica Sierra Vista (CSV) opens two new behavioral health centers designed to bring essential mental health services closer to the communities that need them most.

The first location, Stockdale Behavioral Health Services, officially opened on August 3, 2026, at 5121 Stockdale Highway, Suite 275, Bakersfield, CA 93309. The clinic is accepting new patients and will serve residents in southwest Bakersfield, including the 93309, 93312, and 93314 ZIP codes.

Both facilities are operated by Clinica Sierra Vista through a contract with Kern Behavioral Health & Recovery Services (Kern BHRS), the county agency responsible for administering behavioral health funding and services throughout Kern County.

Addressing a Growing Need for Behavioral Health Care

Behavioral health needs continue to outpace access to care across California, particularly among Medi-Cal populations. Despite growing awareness of mental health challenges, many Californians still face barriers to receiving treatment, counseling, and psychiatric support. The opening of Stockdale Behavioral Health Services represents a meaningful investment in closing that gap locally. By offering comprehensive behavioral health services in a convenient community setting, Clinica Sierra Vista aims to make care more accessible and reduce delays that often prevent individuals and families from getting the support they need.

Patients will have access to:

  • Assessments
  • Individual and group therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Psychiatric services
  • Coping skills and recovery servicesย
  • Medication management
  • Access and referral to needed community resources
  • A variety of diagnostic and advocacy services

Building on Countywide Behavioral Health Transformation

Following the passage of California Proposition 1 (Behavioral Health Transformation) in March 2024, counties received new opportunities and resources to strengthen behavioral health infrastructure, increase treatment capacity, and improve access to care. Kern BHRS has leveraged these changes to expand its network of contracted providers, including Clinica Sierra Vista.

The Stockdale and Belle Terrace locations reflect the continuing partnership between Kern County and CSV to bring vital behavioral health services directly into neighborhoods where they can have the greatest impact.

“Too many families in Kern County wait longer than they should to get the mental health support they need,” said Marisa Trebizo, Senior Director of Behavioral Health at Clinica Sierra Vista.

“Expanding access through the Stockdale Behavioral Health Services means more of our neighbors can walk into a clinic close to home and start receiving care right away, without having to travel across town or wait on a long waitlist.”
